I had the pleasure of attending a Midwest art pottery estate auction last weekend.  I don’t have the opportunity to go to as many pottery auctions and shows as I used to so it was fun to get away and see the excitement of a live auction.

Overall prices were very strong for Roseville pottery.  Many patterns were selling well above current Roseville book prices and for whatever reason condition did not seem to be a factor in the prices collectors were willing to pay.

Prices for middle period Roseville patterns such as Baneda, Futura, Luffa, Monticello and Sunflower were particularly strong.  Examples of a few Roseville pottery prices from the March 2007 auction include:

  • Roseville Sunflower Vase 493-9" $1,600
  • Roseville Blackberry Wall Pocket $1,425
  • Roseville Baneda Vase 593-8" (Green) $1,250
  • Roseville Victorian Art Vase 264-9" $1,000
  • Roseville Ferella Vase 509-8" (Red) Small nick $1,200

Prices for later floral Roseville patterns such as Bushberry, Columbine, Magnolia, Ming Tree, and Wincraft were also strong.
